The King: Jordanians Do Not Only Look at the Laws Issued from Under the Dome of Parliament, but Also at the Conduct and Discourse Originating from It

Al-Taj News – His Majesty King Abdullah II addressed on Monday the members of the National Assembly, comprising both the Senate and the House of Representatives, stating that “Jordanians do not only look at the laws issued from under this dome, but also at the conduct and discourse originating from it.”

During his delivery of the Speech from the Throne, opening the third ordinary session of the twentieth Parliament, His Majesty affirmed that the interest of the Jordanian must be at the core of every decision, not on its margin.

His Majesty said: “It is incumbent upon your Assembly to be a voice for the homeland, a guardian of the public interest, and an overseer of government performance, putting the interest of Jordanians first.”

His Majesty affirmed: “Your divergence in opinion is a strength, so long as Jordan’s interest is the objective.”

His Majesty said: “Your esteemed Assembly is a fundamental and foremost pillar in political life, for the nation is the source of powers and the spring of its strength. By adhering to this principle, our internal front remains immune and safeguarded.”

His Majesty added: “For a strong Jordan is best able to defend its interests and the causes of its nation, rising to its responsibilities and serving as a support for its brothers.”

His Majesty stated: “From this rostrum, I address you to affirm to you, as I have always affirmed, that the interest of the Jordanian must be at the core of every decision, not on its margin, for real development is that whose impact the citizen feels in their livelihood, opportunities, education, healthcare, and the future of their children.”
